DUNN’S CORNER FIRE DEPARTMENT | |

1 | WHEREAS, Dunn's Corner Fire Department Chief Michael J. Frink is retiring after thirty |
2 | years of devoted and meritorious service to the citizens of Westerly; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Chief Frink began his distinguished firefighting career when he joined the |
4 | Dunn's Corner Fire Department as a sixteen-year old student. Since then, he has served the fire |
5 | district in myriad capacities and has steadily risen through the ranks, culminating with his |
6 | appointment to the rank of Chief in 2004, and the decision by the fire department to hire Chief |
7 | Frink as their first full-time paid Chief in 2008; and |
8 | WHEREAS, In his more than twelve years as Fire Chief, Mr. Frink has proven to be an |
9 | effective and innovative leader. His tireless work ethic and abiding concern for those under his |
10 | command has earned him unwavering respect from the community he serves; and |
11 | WHEREAS, In his capacity as Fire Chief, Mr. Frink has played a vital role in the |
12 | expansion of the department. Thanks to his leadership, Dunn's Corner recently added a new class |
13 | of eleven volunteer firefighters, all ready and able to serve in full capacity within the department; |
14 | and |
15 | WHEREAS, Chief Frink also served as President of the Rhode Island Association of Fire |
16 | Chiefs Executive Board in 2014 and 2015, and played a key role in the establishment and |
17 | unveiling of a media campaign aimed at improving volunteer ranks across the state. Chief Frink is |
18 | married to Heather and they are the proud parents of Brittany and Austin; now, therefore be it |
19 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |

1 | Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Michael J. Frink on his retirement as the Chief of the |
2 | Dunn's Corner Fire Department; and be it further |
3 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
4 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Chief Michael J. Frink, Dunn's Corner Fire |
5 | Department. |
