H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF DANIEL PETER GORDON, JR.

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of the

Honorable Daniel Peter Gordon, Jr., a native of Bristol, Pennsylvania, on March 25, 2017. He

was a son of Daniel Peter Gordon, Sr., and Gloria Powanda Gordon; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Gordon was a United States Marine Corps veteran and he worked on

the A6 Intruder Aircraft. He was also the owner of Alliance Construction, and an employee of

Buncombe Antiques Mall; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Gordon was elected to the Rhode Island House of Representatives in

2010, serving from 2011 through 2013. He represented District 71 and served the communities of

Little Compton, Portsmouth and Tiverton. He was a member of the House Corporations, Health,

Education and Welfare, and Veterans' Affairs Committees; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his brother, Jeff Gordon. He will

be sorely missed by his family and many friends; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby expresses its condolences on the passing of the Honorable Daniel

Peter Gordon, Jr.; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Gordon Family.
