EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF RAYMOND U.

ESPOSITO

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of

2

Raymond U. Esposito, the devoted husband for almost 64 years to his beloved wife, Jane F.

3

Esposito, the cherished father of Raymond J. Esposito and his wife, Susan, and the very proud

4

grandfather of Amy and Eric; and

5

     WHEREAS, Born in Providence to the late Remeigio and Maria Esposito, Raymond

6

Esposito had been a longtime resident of the City of Warwick until moving to Providence seven

7

years ago. He was the brother of the late Joseph Esposito, Olga Tramonti, Mario Esposito, Harry

8

Esposito, Ida Albanese, and his twin sister, Esther Shekarchi, and the beloved uncle of many

9

nieces and nephews including our good friend and colleague Leader Joseph Shekarchi; and

10

     WHEREAS, A conscientious and astute businessman, Mr. Esposito had been an officer

11

and co-owner of Esposito Jewelry, Inc., in Providence until his retirement in 1981; and

12

     WHEREAS, In addition to his family and career, Mr. Esposito was an active and

13

contributing member of the community, serving on myriad boards and commissions, and as a

14

former member of the Rhode Island Democratic State Committee, and the Warwick Board of

15

Public Safety from 1974-1976, and subsequently from 1994-1996; and

16

     WHEREAS, Described by his many friends as a good, decent, and most gentle man,

17

whose quiet ways, friendship, and spirit were an extraordinary gift to all who knew him,

18

Raymond Esposito will be dearly missed and always remembered; now, therefore be it

19

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Raymond U.

2

Esposito; and be it further

3

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

4

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mrs. Jane F. Esposito and Family.
