RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING CHRISTOPER NADEAU UPON ACHIEVING | |
SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |

1 | WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the |
2 | Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by only about six percent of all |
3 | the young men who enter scouting; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Christopher Nadeau of Troop 138, West Kingston, is a remarkable young |
5 | man who is eminently worthy of this prestigious achievement and his accomplishments are truly |
6 | deserving of our recognition; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Christopher began his scouting career in the first grade when he joined the |
8 | Cub Scouts. Over the past eleven years, Christopher has become a responsible young man who |
9 | has learned vital life skills. He has learned crucial leadership skills and to be accountable for his |
10 | actions and decisions in life. He has cooked for his Troop and done the preparation work for |
11 | mountain hikes. He has also served the wider community by collecting food for the less fortunate, |
12 | planting flags at the Veterans Cemetery, and building community gardens, sheds and bridges for |
13 | local community groups; and |
14 | WHEREAS, As the highlight of his scouting years and to complete the final step toward |
15 | obtaining the rank of Eagle, Christopher helped the South Kingstown Land Trust in building a 6 |
16 | by 36 raised garden bed, fenced in with a hand built gate. The garden will be used as a |
17 | demonstration garden for the Samuel E. Perry Grist Mill and will be used to grow a variety of |
18 | vegetables; and |
19 | WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to |

1 | celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Christopher Nadeau, who will be graduating |
2 | South Kingstown High School this year and plans to study physics in college, exemplifies |
3 | everything an Eagle Scout should be and all we hope our children will grow to be; now, therefore |
4 | be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
6 | hereby honors Christopher Nadeau for all he has done to attain the Rank of Eagle Scout within |
7 | the Boy Scouts of America; and be it further |
8 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
9 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Christopher Nadeau. |
