	RELATING TO TAXATION - INCOME TAX REFUNDS - STATE TAX OFFICIALS

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Chapter 44-1 of the General Laws entitled "State Tax Officials" is hereby
2	amended by adding thereto the following section:
3	44-1-37. Automatic deposit income tax refund.
4	All filers of state income tax returns shall be given the option of having their income tax
5	refund directly deposited into a bank account chosen by the taxpayer.
6	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
