RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS - MINIMUM WAGES | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 28-12 of the General Laws entitled "Minimum Wages" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 28-12-3.3. Minimum wages for employees of developmental disabilities |
4 | organizations. |
5 | Commencing January 1, 2018, every covered employer providing services to five (5) or |
6 | more persons with developmental disabilities, that are reimbursed for such services by the state, |
7 | shall pay each of their employees, at least fifteen ($15.00) dollars per hour. For the purposes of |
8 | this section, covered employers are those developmental disability organizations licensed to |
9 | provide services pursuant to ยง40.1-24-3. |
10 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
