RELATING TO PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES -- ORGAN DONORS' LEAVE | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 36-6 of the General Laws entitled "Salaries and Traveling |
2 | Expenses" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 36-6-23. Paid leave for organ donors. |
4 | An employee of the state of Rhode Island or any city or town in the state, may take a |
5 | leave of absence of not more than thirty (30) days in a calendar year to serve as an organ donor, |
6 | without loss of or reduction in pay and without loss of leave to which they are otherwise entitled. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
