It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 28-40 of the General Laws entitled "Temporary Disability |
2 | Insurance - Contributions" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 28-40-2.3. Exemption of employees covered by disability insurance programs. |
4 | Employees who are covered by employer sponsored disability insurance programs may |
5 | elect to be exempt from the provisions of chapters 39 through 41 of this title provided the |
6 | employer has submitted documentation to the director confirming such coverage. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on January 1, 2018. |
