EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ANN L. MCCOY

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Ann L.

McCoy, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary McCoy, on February 8, 2017; and

     WHEREAS, Ann had graduated from Providence College and was an avid fan of the

Friars basketball team. She watched all the games and passionately cheered on her team through

their ups and downs, and was never happier than when her beloved Friars were winning games

and beating the competition in the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Tournament; and

     WHEREAS, Ann was a hardworking and industrious lady who was employed by the

Narragansett Electric Company for forty years and was dedicated to serving the needs of the

utility's customers. She leaves behind several cousins; now therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses its sincere condolences on the passing of Ann L. McCoy; and be it further

     RESOLVED, that the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Patricia F. Petit.
