RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS - POLICE AND FIRE ARBITRATIONS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 28-9.1-17 of the General Laws in Chapter 28-9.1 entitled |
2 | "Firefighters' Arbitration" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 28-9.1-17. Continuance of contractual provisions. |
4 | All contractual provisions contained in a collective bargaining agreement entered into |
5 | pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall continue in the following collective bargaining |
6 | agreement unless either the bargaining agent or the corporate authority shall, in writing, within |
7 | the thirty (30) day period referred to in § 28-9.1-7, propose a change in any contractual provision |
8 | until such time as a successor agreement has been reached between the parties or an interest |
9 | arbitration award has been rendered. |
10 | SECTION 2. Section 28-9.2-17 of the General Laws in Chapter 28-9.2 entitled |
11 | "Municipal Police Arbitration" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
12 | 28-9.2-17. Continuance of contractual provisions. |
13 | All contractual provisions contained in a collective bargaining agreement entered into |
14 | pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall continue in the following collective bargaining |
15 | agreement unless either the bargaining agent or the corporate authority shall, in writing, within |
16 | the thirty (30) day period referred to in § 28-9.2-7, propose a change in any contractual provisions |
17 | until such time as a successor agreement has been reached between the parties or an interest |
