S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF BENJAMIN A. MESITI, ESQ.

     WHEREAS, Benjamin A. "Ben" Mesiti, Esq., of Johnston, passed away on Monday,

February 27, 2017, after fighting a courageous battle against Renal Cell Carcinoma. He was

surrounded by his family and many friends; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Mesiti was born in Providence, son of the late Benito I. and Shirley M.

Mesiti. He graduated from Rhode Island College and the New England School of Law and was an

accomplished lawyer for more than fifteen years. He was the owner and operator of Mesiti Law

Offices in Johnston and State Properties, Inc., Brokerage, also in Johnston; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Mesiti was a gifted musician and artist who, in his spare time, enjoyed

writing music, singing, producing music and serving as a disc jockey. Perhaps his greatest joy in

life came when he was sitting at his grand piano writing and singing music. He was a cherished

part of his family and the joy he brought to his family and friends will live on in their hearts

forever; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Mesiti was the beloved husband of Ashley Mesiti and the loving father

of Arabella Shirley Mesiti. He was also the son-in-law of Paul D'Amico, and Ann Marie Rainone

and Joseph Rainone; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses its condolences on the passing of Benjamin A. Mesiti, Esq.; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ashley Mesiti and Family.
