S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING THE SONS OF LIBERTY BEER & SPIRITS COMPANY, ON BEING

NAMED THE "AMERICAN CRAFT PRODUCER OF THE YEAR" AT WHISKY

MAGAZINE'S 2017 ICONS OF WHISKY AWARDS

     WHEREAS, Sons of Liberty Beer & Spirits is a company that was founded by Mike

Reppucci on the belief that a better whiskey with a uniquely American flavor could be made; and

     WHEREAS, With a desire to revolutionize the industry, Mr. Reppucci began distilling

his artisan whiskeys in 2011, from the distinct flavors of beers that people love. From this

inspiring concept, he has subsequently reaped more than 75 awards including winning the 2016

"Best Contemporary Style Gin Award" from the World Gin Awards for their Genever-style gin

distilled from a Belgian wheat beer and the 2016 Gold Medal at the North American Bourbon and

Whiskey Competition; and

     WHEREAS, The company's latest triumph was at Whisky Magazine's 2017 Icons of

Whisky awards ceremony, where the Sons of Liberty Beer & Spirits was named American Craft

Producer of the Year, an honor that will allow it to advance to the global round with the potential

to be named Global Craft Producer of the Year; and

     WHEREAS, In addition, the company also won the 2017 "Best American-Flavored

Whisky" for its Gala Apple seasonal release; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That, this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby congratulates the Sons of Liberty Spirits Company on being named the "American Craft

Producer of the Year" at Whisky Magazine's 2017 Icons of Whisky awards; and be it further

      RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Mike Reppucci, founder of the Sons of

Liberty Spirits Company.
