It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 28-9.7-7 of the General Laws in Chapter 28-9.7 entitled |
2 | "Correctional Officers Arbitration" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 28-9.7-7. Unresolved issues submitted to arbitration. |
4 | In the event that the bargaining agent and the state authorities are unable within thirty |
5 | (30) days from and including the date of their first meeting to reach an agreement on a contract, |
6 | any and all unresolved issues shall be submitted to arbitration. The parties may agree in writing to |
7 | extend the thirty (30) day period. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
