EXPRESSING SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF CARLO ARMANDO GAMBA | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with profound regret that this Senate has learned of the passing of Carlo |
2 | Armando Gamba, beloved father of Carl, Margaret, David and Katy Gamba, the proud |
3 | grandfather of Rebecca May-Cole, Adam, Jesse and Devon Gamba, and the adored companion |
4 | and best friend of Esther Willis; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Mr. Gamba was born in Cranston, and had made his home in West |
6 | Greenwich. He was a graduate of Providence College where he had earned his Master's degree in |
7 | Education; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Proud to be the first member of his family to attend college, Mr. Gamba |
9 | spent much of his life instilling young people with the value of knowledge. He was employed as a |
10 | Teacher, Principal, and as the Director of Grant programs, one of which was the "We the People" |
11 | course which he continued to work with until his passing; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Active in numerous professional organizations, Mr. Gamba had served as |
13 | President of the Rhode Island Retired Teachers Association and the Greater Providence Retired |
14 | Teachers Association. Until his passing, he had also assiduously worked on the Board of |
15 | Directors for the West Greenwich Library Association as well as the state legislative committee |
16 | of AARP; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Mr. Gamba had been a devoted fan of the theater and the arts. He was a |
18 | founding member of the Coventry Players Theater Group, and while his talents were not always |
19 | Broadway caliber, he thoroughly enjoyed dancing and singing in many of the group's |
20 | productions. He also relished gardening and hosting family dinners at his home; and |

1 | WHEREAS, In addition to his children and grandchildren, Mr. Gamba was blessed with a |
2 | large and loving extended family including Dennis, Sharon, Peter, Shaylyn, Madison and |
3 | Nicholas Gamba, Alexis and Cameron Terra, Linda, Karl, Andrew and Christopher Kunzmann, |
4 | David, Steven and Audra Willis; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for Mr. Gamba's |
6 | family and friends. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and will be dearly missed; now, |
7 | therefore be it |
8 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
9 | hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Carlo Armando Gamba; and be it |
10 | further |
11 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
12 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Carl, Margaret, David and Katy Gamba, and |
13 | Esther Willis. |
