EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF MRS. GEORGIANNA ELIZABETH | |

1 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Georgianna Elizabeth Rodrigues, a lifelong resident of Middletown, |
2 | passed away on May, 10, 2017, surrounded by her loving family; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodrigues was married to the late Domingos Rodrigues and together |
4 | they raised nine children on a farm in Middletown. She was a devoted wife to her husband and |
5 | was the beloved mother of her children, who she taught to be strong and determined. She was |
6 | also a doting grandmother and great grandmother and lived her entire life according to her motto |
7 | of "Family First”; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodrigues was also passionate about farming and animals. For more |
9 | than 40 years, she was a 4H leader, and attended numerous dairy and cattle fairs. She also |
10 | mothered many 4H children from across Rhode Island, where the bonds of attachment grew so |
11 | strong that they addressed her lovingly as "Granny"; and |
12 | WHEREAS, In addition, Mrs. Rodrigues worked at St. Clare's Nursing Home and in |
13 | private home care. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Middletown Senior Center for more |
14 | than twenty years; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodrigues was actively involved in local, state and national politics |
16 | and was renowned for her fundraising skills on behalf of the Democratic Party; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodrigues was a nurturer by nature and an ultimate lady. She was |
18 | known by many for her beautiful fashion sense and her big heart. She loved people and gave love |
19 | to all in her life. She will be sorely missed by her loved ones and numerous friends, but she will |

1 | always live on in the memories of those whose lives were positively impacted by her presence; |
2 | and |
3 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodrigues leaves behind her children, Georgianna Rego and her |
4 | husband, Clarence, Linda Johnson, Arlene Kaull and her husband, Charlie, Domingos Rodrigues |
5 | III and his wife, Deborah, Patricia LeBeau, Susan Randall and her husband, Bob, David |
6 | Rodrigues and Paul Rodrigues. She also leaves behind her sisters, Florence Fuentes and Dorothea |
7 | Hagen, twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her |
8 | daughter Evelyn Corey, her sons-in-law Joseph Corey, Raymond LeBeau, her grandson, Joseph |
9 | Corey, and her siblings Maryann Young, Manuel Silvia, Louise Perry, Anthony Silvia, and Alfred |
10 | Silvia; now, therefore be it |
11 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
12 | hereby expresses its condolences to the Rodrigues family on the passing of Mrs. Georgianna |
13 | Elizabeth Rodrigues; and be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
15 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Rodrigues Family. |
