A N   A C T

RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES - REGISTRATION OF VEHICLES

     Introduced By: Representatives Winfield, and Ucci

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 31-3 of the General Laws entitled "Registration of Vehicles" is

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     31-3-117. Antique motor car - Year of manufacture plates - Maintenance.

     (a) For purposes of this section "antique motor car" and "year of manufacture plate" shall

have the meanings promulgated in § 31-1-3.

     (b) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles is hereby authorized and

empowered to make, alter, or amend such rules and regulations necessary to maintain and/or

refurbish registration plates issued pursuant to chapter 3 of title 31 for year of manufacture

registration plates or registration plates issued to antique motor cars and the administrator may

assess a reasonable fee for such service to be paid by the registrant. Services to maintain and/or

refurbish registration plates shall be in accordance with the provisions of § 31-3-28.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

     This act would provide for the maintenance and refurbishing of antique motor car or year

of manufacture plates.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
