	RELATING TO COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE--PROCEDURE GENERALLY -- FEES

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Section 9-29-5 of the General Laws in Chapter 9-29 entitled "Fees" is
2	hereby amended to read as follows:
3	9-29-5. Jurors' fees.
4	All grand and petit jurors shall be paid for each day's attendance on the superior court
5	twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day commencing July 1, 2019, which shall increase to each
6	fifteen dollars ($15.00), thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per day commencing July 1, 2020 and
7	thereafter. The and the general assembly shall annually appropriate such sum as it may deem
8	necessary to carry out the purposes of this section.
9	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

	BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

1	This act would raise the juror's fees for each day's attendance on the superior court to
2	twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day commencing July 1, 2019, and increase to thirty-five dollars
3	($35.00) per day commencing July 1, 2020 and thereafter.
4	This act would take effect upon passage.
