H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF DONALD H. GREBIEN

     WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Donald H.

Grebien, father of Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien and his wife, Laureen, and the late Daniel

Grebien, and the cherished grandfather of Alexa A. Grebien and Connor R. Grebien; and

     WHEREAS, Born in Central Falls, Don Grebien was a son of the late Alfred and Nora

Grebien, and the brother of Frederick Grebien. He had been a resident of the City of Pawtucket

for most of his life; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grebien was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School, and had

served our country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era; and

     WHEREAS, Until his retirement, Mr. Grebien had taken great pride in his long-time

employment as a driver for McLaughlin & Moran; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grebien was a member of the Howard Rogers American Legion Post

25, and an avid sports fan; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to his family, Mr. Grebien is survived by his caregiver, Robert

Baptista and had shared his life with his beloved four-legged friends, Bella, Chloe, Princess,

Guinness and the late Mini; and

     WHEREAS, Oftentimes finding the strength to come to terms and reconcile one's

feelings after the passing of family takes time and reflection, but in the years ahead, the sorrow

will lessen and cherished memories will survive; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby extends its deepest sympathy to the Grebien Family on the passing

of Donald H. Grebien; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Donald R. Grebien and Family.
