H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING NANCY DENUCCIO FOR HER DEVOTED SERVICE AS EXECUTIVE

DIRECTOR OF THE NARRAGANSETT PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP

     WHEREAS, Nancy DeNuccio began her dedicated work with the Narragansett

Prevention Partnership more than twenty-years ago, after moving to Narragansett with her family;

and

     WHEREAS, With two school-aged children, Mrs. DeNuccio began her community

activism with the local parent-teacher organization; and

     WHEREAS, Following a PTO sponsored presentation by the Narragansett Youth Task

Force, Ms. DeNuccio decided to become involved with the Narragansett Prevention Partnership,

and after the retirement of the organization's former Executive Director, she applied for and was

named to the position; and

     WHEREAS, During her tenure at the helm of the Narragansett Prevention Partnership,

Mrs. DeNuccio has successfully secured numerous state and federal grants enabling the coalition

to implement substance abuse prevention programs and fund a multitude of community projects.

The local Chief of Police credits the organization's efforts with a reduction in underage alcohol

use by Narragansett students; and

     WHEREAS, Upon her retirement, Mrs. DeNuccio intends to remain active, serving on a

panoply of statewide committees and task forces, and will continue doing consulting, grant

writing and serving on the state's Marijuana Commission; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby honors and thanks Nancy DeNuccio for her dedicated efforts as

Executive Director of the Narragansett Prevention Partnership. We furthermore extend best

wishes for her continued success, fulfillment, and good health; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Nancy DeNuccio.
