It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 23-18.3 of the General Laws entitled "Advisory Commission on |
2 | Historical Cemeteries" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 23-18.3-6. Marking of governors' graves. |
4 | The commission is authorized and directed to continue the program previously conducted |
5 | by the Rhode Island graves registration committee of placing a bronze plaque bearing the name |
6 | and dates of service of each deceased former governor together with the national and state flags |
7 | on the grave of each such governor. The general assembly shall make an annual appropriation for |
8 | the support of this program. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
