RELATING TO EDUCATION -- SCHOOL SECURITY PERSONNEL EMPLOYMENT | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-21 of the General Laws entitled "Health and Safety of Pupils" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 16-21-37. School security personnel employment. |
4 | Notwithstanding any state laws or regulations, municipal ordinances or contractual |
5 | limitations to the contrary, any individual, with at least two (2) years law enforcement or military |
6 | experience, may be employed by any school district located in the state working as an employee |
7 | providing security services to any school, within such school district, without any limitation as to |
8 | the remunerations, hours or days worked by such individual. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
