EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF JEANNE C. SILVA | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Jeanne |
2 | Silva, beloved wife for forty-seven years to the love of her life, Thomas R. Silva, the cherished |
3 | mother of Kevin and his wife, Kristen, and Heather Silva, and the doting grandmother to the |
4 | "lights of her life" Dylan, Ethan, Lucy, Charlotte, and Collin Silva; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Jeanne Santos grew up in the Fox Point neighborhood of Providence, the |
6 | daughter of the late Angelo and Virginia Santos, and sister of Debra Santos and Pamela Cameron. |
7 | She attended Fox Point Elementary School and Nathan Bishop Junior High School, and was a |
8 | graduate of Hope High School. Upon graduating, she worked as an administrative assistant and |
9 | retail associate for various local businesses; and |
10 | WHEREAS, From their first date in high school, it was apparent that Tom and Jeanne |
11 | were destined to be together. They married in April of 1971, and built a home, family, and |
12 | marriage that flourished and was warm and welcoming; and |
13 | WHEREAS, As her children grew up, Mrs. Silva decided to once again work outside of |
14 | the home, but still remained close working as a volunteer with the Cranston Public Schools where |
15 | her children attended. She later became a vocational assessment technician, helping young people |
16 | to discover their future career paths, and subsequently, before her retirement, worked in |
17 | Cranston's Early Childhood Development Program; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Upon retirement, Jeanne and Tom enjoyed spending a few months of winter |
19 | in The Villages and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, but joyfully returned home to the family she |
20 | loved and missed; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Jeanne Silva was the heart and soul of her family. Her kindheartedness and |
2 | sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories of her |
3 | entire family. She enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have known her and she |
4 | will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
6 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the Silva Family on the |
7 | passing of Jeanne Silva; and be it further |
8 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
9 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Thomas Silva and Family. |
