It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 40-8 of the General Laws entitled "Medical Assistance" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 40-8-33. Parents as CNA caregivers for their children. |
4 | The department of human services shall promulgate regulations to compensate parents |
5 | (or persons to become parents) who are certified nursing assistant (CNA) caregivers for their |
6 | children. The department shall submit recommendations on maintaining or expanding the |
7 | program in FY 2020 to the senate president on or before January 1, 2019. Out of monies not |
8 | otherwise appropriated, the general assembly shall appropriate the sum of three hundred thousand |
9 | dollars ($300,000) for the fiscal year 2018-2019 for parents to be compensated as CNA |
10 | caregivers for their children. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
