S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF FRED J. RUBIANO

     WHEREAS, Mr. Fred J. Rubiano of North Providence, passed away at his home on

2

February 27, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born in Providence, the son of the late

3

Frederick and Bessie Rubiano; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Rubiano was a lifelong resident of North Providence and graduated

5

from North Providence High School in 1972. He was a hard-working man who was employed by

6

the Coca Cola Bottling Company for thirty-eight years until his retirement in 2015; and

7

     WHEREAS, In his free time, Fred enjoyed volunteering his services in support of youth

8

activities. He was a baseball coach for the North Providence West Little League for many years,

9

and coached CYO Basketball at the former St. Lawrence Church. He was also a passionate sports

10

fan who was an avid Red Sox fan (and Yankee hater), and he enjoyed attending Providence

11

Bruins games. Mr. Rubiano was a warm, loving and compassionate man who will be sorely

12

missed by his family and many friends; and

13

     WHEREAS, Fred was also a devoted father. He leaves behind his two children, Joseph

14

Rubiano and his wife, Lisa, and Kristen Ann Lisi and her husband, Anthony. He is also survived

15

by his six grandchildren, several nephews and nieces, and two sisters, Cynthia King and Jeanie

16

Vickers; now, therefore be it

17

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

18

hereby expresses its condolences on the passing of Mr. Fred J. Rubiano; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Joseph Rubiano and Kristen Ann Lisi.
