S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JANET A. TASSONI

     Introduced By: Senators Archambault, Lombardi, Cote, Metts, and Algiere

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Mrs.

Janet A. Tassoni passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018. She was the devoted wife of

the late John J. Tassoni; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Tassoni was born in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late

Oscar and Georgianna Rondeau. She was employed at Amica Insurance for many years before

her retirement. She was a hard-working woman, a devoted wife and mother, and a cherished

friend of many who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Tassoni is survived by her children, our former colleague the

Honorable Senator John J. Tassoni, Jr., and his wife, Councilwoman S. Jean Cerroni, Michael

Tassoni and his wife, Paula, David Tassoni and his wife, Brenda, and Judi-Ann Slader and her

husband, Michael. Mrs. Tassoni also leaves behind her brothers, Robert and Raymond Rondeau,

eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses its condolences to the Tassoni Family on the passing of Mrs. Janet A. Tassoni;

and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the Honorable John J. Tassoni, Jr., Michael

Tassoni, David Tassoni, and Judi-Ann Slader.
