1 | WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
2 | Richard L. Lafreniere, the beloved husband of Laura Lafreniere, the cherished son of the late |
3 | Alfred and Margaret Lafreniere, and the devoted son-in-law of Leo and Diane Larivee; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Born in Pawtucket, Mr. Lafreniere's boisterous and loving family included |
5 | his siblings, our good friend and colleague, the Honorable Elizabeth Crowley, Mary Desjean and |
6 | her husband, Richard, Leona Lafreniere, Linda Fontaine and her husband, Russell, Robert |
7 | Lafreniere, Albert Lafreniere and his wife, Joanne, and Michael Lafreniere. He is also survived |
8 | by many adored nieces and nephews; and |
9 | WHEREAS, For many years, Mr. Lafreniere had been employed as an electrician by |
10 | Duff Electric Corporation; and |
11 | WHEREAS, A contributing member of the community and a loyal friend to many, Mr. |
12 | Lafreniere often volunteered his time and talents to the Knights of Columbus and most anyone |
13 | who needed his help; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In addition to his family, work, and volunteerism, Mr. Lafreniere was an |
15 | avid Patriots fan, and had a great affinity with the furry friends who shared his home and his |
16 | heart; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Richard Lafreniere will forever be remembered for his keen sense of humor |
18 | that never failed to lift one's spirits. He was fortunate to have the total love and support of his |
19 | family and he enriched all their lives and will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |

1 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2 | hereby expresses heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Richard L. |
3 | Lafreniere; and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mrs. Laura Lafreniere, the Honorable Elizabeth |
6 | Crowley, Mary Desjean, Leona Lafreniere, Linda Fontaine, Robert Lafreniere, Albert Lafreniere, |
7 | and Michael Lafreniere. |
