S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF FRANCELINA VEADER

     WHEREAS, Francelina Veader, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, passed away on March 11,

2018, surrounded by her family. She was 103 years old when she passed and was the proud

recipient of the "Golden Cane Award" in August of 2017, given to the oldest resident of

Rehoboth; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Veader was the wife of the late Frank C. Veader. Born in Middletown,

Rhode Island, she was a devoted wife and mother who took great pleasure in creating and

maintaining a warm and nurturing home for her family. She also took great pride in the amazing

apple and banana cream pies that she created and baked to perfection. She was a wonderful friend

to many and will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew and loved her; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Veader leaves behind four sons, Louis Veader and his wife, Linda,

Frank Veader, Dennis Veader and his wife, Josephine, and Alfred Veader and his wife, Beth, and

a daughter, Anna Gomes. She also leaves behind her daughter in-law, Margaret Veader, sixteen

grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and

nephews. She was the mother of the late Hortense and Manuel Veader; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its

condolences on the passing of Francelina Veader; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Louis Veader, Frank Veader, Dennis Veader,

Alfred Veader, and Anna Gomes.
