EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF TYLER J. SIMMS

     WHEREAS, Tyler J. Simms passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, in Burlington

2

Massachusetts. He was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire in 1986 to Jay and Robyn Simms; and

3

     WHEREAS, Mr. Simms graduated from Lebanon High School in 2005, where he was a

4

talented athlete who excelled in baseball, hockey and soccer, and exhibited his leadership skills

5

while serving as the Captain of those three teams. Mr. Simms later attended Bentley College

6

where he attained a Bachelor's degree in 2010 and a Master's degree in 2011; and

7

     WHEREAS, Mr. Simms was a successful CPA who worked for Deloitte from 2011 to

8

2017, and most recently worked as a consultant for CFGI. In his free time, he enjoyed spending

9

time with his family and loved ones, as well as boating, golf, and playing in a men's hockey

10

league; and

11

     WHEREAS, Mr. Simms is survived by his parents, Jay and Robyn Simms, his high

12

school sweetheart and fiancé, Lindsay Fegan, his brother and best friend, Tanner Simms, his

13

maternal grandmother, Sally Bush, his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Simms, many aunts,

14

uncles, cousins and friends, and his loyal dog, Hendrick; and

15

     WHEREAS, Mr. Simms was a hard-working and charismatic young man who was

16

devoted to his family and friends. His passing will leave a hole in the hearts of many but the

17

memory of his life, and the kindness, compassion and love he gave to so many, will comfort those

18

in their grief; now, therefore be it

19

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

20

hereby expresses its condolences to the Simms Family on the passing of Tyler J. Simms; and be it

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

3

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Jay and Robyn Simms and Family.
