HONORING AND THANKING CHERYL RICCI ON THE OCCASION OF HER | |
RETIREMENT | |

1 | WHEREAS, To the immense good fortune of the Rhode Island Senate, Cheryl Ricci |
2 | began her employment with the Senate Minority Office on August 27th of 1988; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Over the course of the next thirty years, Cheryl gained vast knowledge on |
4 | myriad subjects, enabling her to find solutions, produce answers, track legislation through its |
5 | many journeys, and provide copious amounts of research quickly and efficiently; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Outshining her panoply of intellectual abilities, Cheryl's personality and |
7 | generosity has made her a true and loyal friend to the legislators she so capably serves and her |
8 | fellow staff members; and |
9 | WHEREAS, In addition to her legislative duties, Cheryl's life revolves around her family. |
10 | She is the mother of Jason Ruotolo and Sarah Bigelow and the very proud grandmother of John |
11 | and Leah Ruotolo, and Alexis and Emma Bigelow; and |
12 | WHEREAS, When not at the State House, Cheryl enjoys the ocean, reading, hiking, |
13 | gardening, and photography, especially shots of nature; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Cheryl will be retiring at the end of 2018, but her life will continue at a |
15 | vigorous pace with hopefully a little more time for family, friends, traveling the globe, spending |
16 | winters in a warmer climate, and remodeling her home with her partner, Mark McNeilly; and |
17 | WHEREAS, As Cheryl embarks on the wonderful world of retirement possibilities, she |
18 | leaves behind many friends and fans. She is enormously worthy of our emulation, adulation, and |
19 | acknowledgement and she will be greatly missed; now, therefore be it |

1 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2 | hereby recognizes and sincerely thanks Cheryl Ricci for thirty years of devoted service and |
3 | friendship. We wish her continued happiness, health, and fulfillment as she begins a new chapter |
4 | in her life; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Cheryl Ricci. |
