It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 23 of the General Laws entitled "HEALTH AND SAFETY" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 4.13 |
4 | THE RHODE ISLAND RIGHT TO LIFE ACT OF 2019 |
5 | 23-4.13-1. Short title. |
6 | This chapter shall be known as and may be cited as the "Rhode Island right to life act of |
7 | 2019." |
8 | 23-4.13-2. Right to life recognized. |
9 | The right to life is guaranteed by the state of Rhode Island and is vested in each person at |
10 | fertilization. Thus, the right to life is recognized for a fetus, both male and female. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
