It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-59 of the General Laws entitled "Board of Governors for Higher |
2 | Education [See Title 16 Chapter 97 - The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby |
3 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
4 | 16-59-29. Waiver of fees for veterans. |
5 | The council on postsecondary education shall authorize and encourage the presidents of |
6 | the Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode |
7 | Island to exempt veterans, as defined in ยง16-92-3, from any and all application fees and/or |
8 | transcript fees when deemed to be in the best interests of the college or university. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
