	RELATING TO HOLIDAYS AND DAYS OF SPECIAL OBSERVANCE -- WORK ON
	HOLIDAYS AND SUNDAYS

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Section 25-3-7 of the General Laws in Chapter 25-3 entitled "Work on
2	Holidays and Sundays" is hereby repealed.
3	25-3-7. Exemptions.
4	Whenever in the opinion of the director any class of employers, either because of the
5	nature of their operations or their size, should be exempted from the provisions of this chapter,
6	the director may do so by regulations adopted in accordance with the provisions of § 25-3-6.
7	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

	BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

	HOLIDAYS AND SUNDAYS

1	This act would repeal § 5-3-7 of the general laws which gives the director of the
2	department of labor and training the authority to exempt certain classes of employees from
3	receiving overtime pay for Sunday and holiday work.
4	This act would take effect upon passage.
