RELATING TO ELECTIONS -- MANDATORY USE OF PAPER BALLOTS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 17-19 of the General Laws entitled "Conduct of Election and |
2 | Voting Equipment, and Supplies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 17-19-2.2. Mandatory use of paper ballots. |
4 | All voting regulated by this title shall be conducted through the use of paper ballots, |
5 | which shall create a verifiable paper record available for post-election physical audits and |
6 | recounts to ensure that the electronic voting machines are accurately recording votes. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
