WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Law Enforcement Accreditation Program was established

2

in 2012 and is managed by the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission (RIPAC). This

3

program provides the mechanism by which law enforcement agencies can ensure civic leaders

4

and citizens that their departments meet the highest standards, and practice the best methods

5

within the law enforcement profession. The RIPAC program is a rigorous process consisting of

6

200 standards that address the most important issues facing police departments and law

7

enforcement agencies; and

Lieutenant Gary Miller; now, therefore be it

16

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

17

Providence Plantations hereby congratulates the Coventry Police Department on achieving

18

accreditation from the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission; and be it further

19

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

1

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Coventry Police Chief, Colonel John

2

MacDonald.
