HOSPITALS - DIVISION OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 40.1-21 of the General Laws entitled "Division of Developmental |
2 | Disabilities" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 40.1-21-19. Speech and communication support. |
4 | (a) The director of the department of behavioral healthcare, developmental disabilities |
5 | and hospitals shall provide any adult who has a communication disorder and is eligible for |
6 | disability services under the provisions of this chapter with a treatment plan necessary to provide |
7 | support and professional care and treatment for any such communication disorder. |
8 | (b) The director is hereby authorized and directed to promulgate all rules and regulations |
9 | as may be required to implement the provisions of this section. |
10 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
