	EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF PASTOR NATHANIEL VIRGIL
	WITCHER

1	WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Elder
2	Nathaniel Witcher, the beloved pastor and spiritual leader of the Pentecostal Church of God in
3	Christ for many years; and
4	WHEREAS, In addition, Pastor Witcher was the Administrative Assistant to the Rhode
5	Island Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ, Inc.; and
6	WHEREAS, An avid disciple of shaping the city's young people and instilling them with
7	noble values and knowledge, Pastor Witcher had also worked as both a principal and a teacher at
8	the Providence Christian Academy; and
9	WHEREAS, A man of God, Elder Witcher was a kind and humble man who never turned
10	his back on anyone in need and was passionate about helping his community; and
11	WHEREAS, Pastor Witcher was a true model of devoted Christian service, and in
12	November of 2018, the Providence City Council voted to name an intersection in his honor for
13	his service to his fellow man; and
14	WHEREAS, Elder Witcher has left Rhode Island and this world a far better place
15	because of his life’s endeavors. He was an inspiration to many and will be dearly missed; now,
16	therefore be it
17	RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and
18	Providence Plantations hereby extends its deepest sympathy on the passing of Pastor Nathaniel
19	Virgil Witcher; and be it further

1	RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2	transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in
3	Providence.
