	RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS - TEMPORARY DISABILITY
	INSURANCE - CONTRIBUTIONS

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Chapter 28-40 of the General Laws entitled "Temporary Disability
2	Insurance - Contributions" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
3	28-40-2.3. Exemption of employees covered by disability insurance programs.
4	Employees who are covered by employer sponsored disability insurance programs may elect to
5	be exempt from the provisions of chapters 39 through 41 of this title, provided the employer has
6	submitted documentation to the director confirming such coverage.
7	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on January 1, 2020.

1	This act would permit employees who are covered by employer sponsored disability
2	insurance programs to elect to be exempt from the state temporary disability insurance program,
3	provided the employer has submitted documentation to the director confirming such coverage.
4	This act would take effect on January 1, 2020.
