RELATING TO PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES - SALARIES AND TRAVELING

EXPENSES

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 36-4 of the General Laws entitled "Merit System" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     36-4-66. Electronic log-in required.

     All state employees in the non-supervisory classified services shall be required to

5

complete a daily electronic log-in and log-out time indicating the number of work hours for each

6

day worked. The method for electronically recording such hours shall be recorded using existing

7

computer resources and shall be administered by the department of administration. The director is

8

hereby directed to establish whatever rules and regulations shall be required to carry out the

9

purposes of this section.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
