	RELATING TO AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY -- LUMBER SURVEYORS

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Section 2-20-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 2-20 entitled "Lumber
2	Surveys" is hereby repealed.
3	2-20-1. Appointment of city and town surveyors and measurers.
4	The city and town councils of all cities and towns where boards, plank, timber, joist and
5	scantling are imported for sale shall annually, on or before the first day of March, appoint one or
6	more surveyors and measurers of boards, plank, timber, joist and scantling, who are removable at
7	the pleasure of the council. Each surveyor shall give bond, with two (2) securities, in the sum of
8	five hundred dollars ($500), to the city or town treasurer for the faithful discharge of the duties of
9	the office.
10	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
