RELATING TO WATERS AND NAVIGATION -- SHIPWRECKS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 46-10-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 46-10 entitled |
2 | "Shipwrecks" is hereby repealed. |
3 | 46-10-1. Appointment of town commissioners of wrecks and shipwrecked goods -- |
4 | Bond. |
5 | The town council of every town, the territorial limits of which extend to the seashore, |
6 | except the town of New Shoreham, shall annually appoint a commissioner of wrecks and |
7 | shipwrecked goods, with power to appoint one or more deputies. Every commissioner of wrecks |
8 | and shipwrecked goods shall give bond with sufficient surety or sureties to the town treasurer of |
9 | the town wherein the commissioner shall be appointed, in the sum of five thousand dollars |
10 | ($5,000) for the faithful performance of the duties of the commissioner's office. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
