It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 45-19 of the General Laws entitled "Relief of Injured and Deceased |
2 | Fire Fighters and Police Officers" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 45-19-1.7. Salary payment of correctional officers. |
4 | Any benefits that a disabled, injured on-duty correctional officer may enjoy, as a result of |
5 | any collective bargaining agreement, similar to those benefits available through ยง 45-19-1, shall |
6 | not be subject to any income taxation under chapter 30 of title 44. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
