S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

     EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THERESE F. QUINN

     

     Introduced By: Senators Lombardo, Ruggerio, Metts, Lawson, and Nesselbush

     WHEREAS, Therese Quinn passed away on March 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving

2

family. She was the devoted wife of the late Andrew J. Quinn; and

3

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Quinn was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward and

4

Mary Gallagher. She married Andrew, the love of her life, and together they raised six wonderful

5

children. Mrs. Quinn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a cherished friend to

6

many; and

7

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Quinn devoted much of her time to worthy causes such as Meals on

8

Wheels and Sunny View Nursing Home. In her free time, she loved Irish dancing, singing Irish

9

songs, and writing poetry. She deeply touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her and will

10

be sorely missed by her family; and

11

     WHEREAS, Therese Quinn leaves behind her children, Andrew Quinn and his wife,

12

Jean, Mark Quinn and his wife Aileen, Thomas Quinn, Timothy Quinn and his wife, Kerry, Peter

13

Quinn and his wife, Barbara, and Kathleen Steere and her husband, Miles. She also leaves behind

14

her grandchildren, Brenna, Andrew, Ashley, Nathan, Ian, Katelin, and Aidan, and was the great-

15

grandmother of Rowen. She was the sister of William Gallagher, and the late Edward Gallagher,

16

Charles Gallagher, Marie Kenney, and Margaret Dickerson; now, therefore be it

17

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

18

hereby expresses its condolences on the passing of Therese F. Quinn; and be it further

19

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

20

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Andrew Quinn, Mark Quinn, Thomas Quinn,

Timothy Quinn, Peter Quinn, and Kathleen Steere.
