S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXTENDING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING RYAN J. FERRIS

     Introduced By: Senators de la Cruz, Paolino, Morgan, Rogers, and Lombardi

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the untimely passing

of Ryan J. Ferris, the loving husband for almost fourteen years to Danielle Ferris, and the

cherished father of two young daughters, Mia and Paisley; and

     WHEREAS, Born in Worcester, Ryan Ferris was the treasured and thoughtful son of

Kathleen and William Lafond, and the late Jeffrey Ferris, and the loving brother of Julie Parlee

and Michelle Kelley; and

     WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Harrisville and a hard-working family man, Mr.

Ferris was employed in the maintenance division of Wright's Farm Restaurant in the Village of

Nasonville; and

     WHEREAS, In 1995, Mr. Ferris became a Jr. Firefighter and a corpsman with the

Burrillville Ambulance and Rescue Association. He later served as a dedicated member of the

Harrisville Fire Department for seventeen years, and was posthumously promoted to

communications lieutenant as a show of utmost respect for his dedicated service; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Ferris had served as a member of numerous firefighter organizations

including, as a delegate to the Northern R.I. Firefighters League, and as President of the

Harrisville Hose Co. in 2014, and Vice President in 2015; and

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Ryan Ferris left this world far too soon. He was an

extraordinary individual whose personal integrity and dedication enriched the community and the

lives of all who knew him; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby recognizes and honors the valiant and dedicated service of Ryan J. Ferris and extends

deepest sympathies to the entire Ferris Family on his untimely passing; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Danielle Ferris and Family.
