S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING JOHN DANIEL FOREMAN, TROOP 1,

WAKEFIELD, RHODE ISLAND, UPON ACHIEVING SCOUTING'S MOST

DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT

     WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the

Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by only six percent of all the

young people who enter scouting; and

     WHEREAS, Not every Scout qualifies for the high rank of Eagle. Strenuous physical

hurdles, strong personal character, indomitable spirit, strong leadership skills, intelligence and a

commitment to community service are necessary to become an Eagle Scout, and are rare to find

in one person. John Daniel Foreman is a remarkable young man worthy of this prestigious

achievement and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and

     WHEREAS, Learning important lifelong skills and values, John earned numerous merit

badges and as the highlight of his scouting years, he completed the final step toward obtaining the

rank of Eagle Scout by planning and carrying out an extensive Eagle service project in which he,

with the help of his scout troop, constructed a timber platform to store food safely at the

Johnnycake Center Food Pantry to help families in need in Wakefield; and

     WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth, and to

celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. John exemplifies everything an Eagle Scout

should be and we wish him joy and happiness at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor on April 14th,

2019; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby extends its deepest congratulations to John Daniel Foreman on achieving the rank of Eagle

Scout. We wish him continued success in all his future endeavors and thank him for his untiring

service to those in need and his local community; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. John Daniel Foreman.
