S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF KATHLEEN T. MANZI

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of

2

Kathleen Manzi, the beloved wife of Frank Manzi for 56 years, and the devoted mother of Joseph

3

Manzi, Sr., and his wife, Barbara, Camille Egan and her husband, Michael, and Maria Manzi; and

4

     WHEREAS, Born in Corona, New York, Mrs. Manzi was the daughter of the late

5

Francesco and Carmella Sanzotta, the sister of the late Vincent Sanzotta, Nicholas Sanzotta,

6

Angela DeSimone, and Marie Bisi, and the aunt to many cherished nieces and nephews; and

7

     WHEREAS, With a fun and loving personality, and a "heart of gold," Mrs. Manzi created

8

and nurtured a marriage that flourished, and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on

9

her family, particularly her grandchildren Michael and Ian Egan, Joseph and Danielle Manzi,

10

Brittney Richards and her husband, John, and one great-grandson, John Richards, who were all

11

truly the light of her life; and

12

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Manzi particularly enjoyed family get-togethers, camping with her

13

family, conducting bus trips with her husband, as well as bingo, and arts and crafts projects; and

14

     WHEREAS, In addition to making a home for her family, Mrs. Manzi was a woman of

15

deep faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was a chartered member and had served as

16

the past President of the St. Mary's Feast Society Ladies Auxiliary for many years, and was a

17

member of the St. Mary's Church Italian Cultural Society, the Knightsville Seniors Club, and the

18

Oaklawn Grange; and

19

     WHEREAS, During her last months, Mrs. Manzi was blessed with wonderful care from

20

Johnny Gervais, Yvette Rogers, and Beth Lockwood from Kindred Hospice. She was truly a kind

and gentle woman who left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she

2

will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it

3

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

4

hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the Manzi Family on the passing of Kathleen T.

5

Manzi; and be it further

6

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

7

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Frank Manzi and Family.
