JOYOUSLY CELEBRATING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE | |
RHODE ISLAND NURSERY AND LANDSCAPE ASSOCIATION | |

1 | WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association (RINLA), founded |
2 | on March 29, 1919, is the main horticultural, agricultural and landscape association in the state, |
3 | representing a $2.5 billion industry in Rhode Island; and |
4 | WHEREAS, RINLA membership includes nurseries, landscape architects, designers and |
5 | contractors, arborists, irrigation specialists, garden centers, turf farms, green engineers, masons, |
6 | fruit and vegetable growers, cut flower growers, compost and mulch manufacturers, suppliers, |
7 | and many other affiliated businesses. RINLA members take great pride in their work and strive at |
8 | all times to uphold the highest standards in horticultural and environmental practices; and |
9 | WHEREAS, RINLA is a leading voice in support of proper environmental stewardship. It |
10 | promotes and advances the welfare of its membership through education, research, professional |
11 | certification, collaboration with supportive associations, assistance with the marketing of green |
12 | industry-related goods and services, and legislative representation and advocacy, particularly on |
13 | issues related to climate change; now, therefore be it |
14 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
15 | hereby joyously celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Rhode Island Nursery and |
16 | Landscape Association. We thank them for their stewardship and leadership on issues pertaining |
17 | to the environment and horticulture, and wish them continued success in the future; and be it |
18 | further |
19 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
