EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF TINA-MARIE SULLIVAN | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deepest sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Tina- |
2 | Marie Sullivan, the beloved wife of Keith Sullivan, and the devoted mother of Patrick and Katie; |
3 | and |
4 | WHEREAS, One of seven children born into the family of the late Edmund and Florence |
5 | Brousseau, Mrs. Sullivan was the sister of Carol, Robert, Kenneth, and the late Ronald, Richard |
6 | and Russell. She also leaves behind and will be dearly missed by her mother-in-law, many nieces |
7 | and nephews, and a vast cadre of best friends and coworkers; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Born in Central Falls, Mrs. Sullivan was affectionately given the moniker of |
9 | “a daughter of the city” from Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, because of her untiring devotion |
10 | to helping those in need in the City she loved. As a child, she had also won the honor of being |
11 | named “Little Miss Central Falls,” beating out the renowned Oscar, Emmy, and Tony-award |
12 | winning actress Viola Davis to win the coveted title; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Sullivan had lost her father at a young age which resulted in a deep and |
14 | personal understanding and compassion for those less fortunate. As the Executive Director of the |
15 | Central Falls Housing Authority, her advocacy for affordable housing was unmatched. She was |
16 | innovative and tireless, and epitomized the conviction that every person had a right to a home and |
17 | opportunities. She was recognized as a YMCA Rhode Island Women of Achievement for her |
18 | successes in providing affordable housing, and had contributed many hours working on housing |
19 | boards and committees, and organizing myriad fundraisers for those in need; and |
20 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Sullivan was the kind of mother every child needs and deserves. With |

1 | a loving and warm personality, she had created and nurtured a marriage that flourished, and a |
2 | home that was warm and welcoming. She will be deeply missed by all who were a part of a too- |
3 | short but truly amazing life; now, therefore be it |
4 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
5 | hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Tina-Marie Sullivan; and be it further |
6 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and herby is authorized and directed to |
7 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Keith Sullivan and Family. |
