EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF FRANK J. LOMBARDI

     WHEREAS, Frank J. Lombardi passed away on June 13, 2019. He was born in

2

Providence, the son of the late Ralph and Sylvia Lombardi, and the devoted husband for sixty-one

3

years to Jean Marie Lombardi; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Lombardi graduated from La Salle Academy in 1951, and Providence

5

College in 1955. For much of his professional career, he was a hard-working public servant. He

6

served the State as the Assistant Chief of Construction with the Department of Transportation,

7

and as a Chief Engineer Project Manager for RIPTA; and

8

     WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Lombardi was an active member of the Sons of Italy,

9

Italian Heritage Club, Italo-American Club, Bristol Elks, and the Mount Pleasant Bowling

10

League. He also served as the Acting President of the Hampton Place Condominium Association;

11

and

12

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Mr. Lombardi leaves behind his children, Frank

13

Lombardi and his wife, Diane, Marianne Lombardi, and Cynthia Guerra and her husband,

14

Richard. He also leaves behind his sister, Lucy Fasciano, his grandchildren, Stacy Dempsey,

15

Stephanie Guerra, Jennifer Brunelle, Anthony Lombardi, and Stephen Guerra, and great-

16

grandchild Lila Jean Dempsey. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, John Mercurio,

17

Anthony Mercurio, Gregory Mercurio, Mark Mercurio, Robert Fasciano, Sandra Sousa, and

18

Sylvia Medeiros; and

19

     WHEREAS, Mr. Lombardi was a devoted family man and a loyal friend to many. He was

20

a good-natured and jovial man who brought smiles and joy to the faces of all who encountered

him. His passing is a grievous loss but he will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all

2

who knew him; now, therefore be it

3

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

4

hereby expresses its condolences to the Lombardi Family on the passing of Frank J. Lombardi;

5

and be it further

6

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

7

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Jean Marie Lombardi and Family.
