EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF CECELIA A. IANNAZZI | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Cecelia |
2 | A. "Cis" Iannazzi, resident of Smithfield and West Palm Beach, Florida, and the beloved wife for |
3 | fifty-three years to the late Pasquale Iannazzi; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Cecelia Iannazzi, was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Romano |
5 | and the sister of the late Ralph F. Romano and Dr. Michael Romano. She was formerly a |
6 | longtime resident of the City of Providence and had attended Providence public schools. Cecelia |
7 | proudly served Rhode Island College and its Student Body as Chief Clerk of Records until her |
8 | retirement in 1989; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Cis was blessed with many friends and a loving family who adored her. She |
10 | was the cherished mother of Jo-Ann Doyle and her husband, George, Donald S. Iannazzi and his |
11 | wife, Ann Marie, and Helynn M. Baxter and her husband, J. Joseph. She was also the very proud |
12 | grandmother of John Calcagni, Andrea Iannazzi, Michael Calcagni, Stephen Iannazzi, Ashley |
13 | Lemieux, Joseph Baxter and Samantha Baxter, and the great-grandmother of Cecelia Lemieux; |
14 | and |
15 | WHEREAS, Cis enjoyed her retirement by spending the winters in Florida, serving as the |
16 | unofficial Mayor of the pool at the Palm Club II development. She could be found there almost |
17 | any day of the week, usually finishing the reading of another book in record time. If she was not |
18 | holding court by the pool, she could surely be found on the couch glued to the Hallmark Channel, |
19 | watching one of her favorite movies that she had most likely seen many times before; and |
20 | WHEREAS, Christmas was Cis's favorite time of year, so much so that each year, it |

1 | would come twice; once in December, and again in July for Hallmark's "Christmas in July"; and |
2 | WHEREAS, Cis passed down many traditions to her children and grandchildren, |
3 | including a love for Frank Sinatra. Her home was a place where everyone wanted to be. There |
4 | was always something on the stove, Golden Girls on the TV, good conversation to be had, and of |
5 | course endless laughs. No matter what was going on, time seemed to stop at 5 o'clock for, of |
6 | course, "Happy Hour"; and |
7 | WHEREAS, The countless memories that Cecelia Iannazzi leaves behind are a sign of |
8 | the great life that she lived. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family, and she will |
9 | continue to live on in their hearts and memories forever; now, therefore be it |
10 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
11 | hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the entire Iannazzi Family on the passing of Cecelia |
12 | A. Iannazzi; and be it further |
13 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
14 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Jo-Ann Doyle, Donald S. Iannazzi and Helynn |
15 | M. Baxter. |
