	RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- MOTOR VEHICLES OWNED
	BY A GOVERNMENTAL BODY

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Chapter 42-11.3 of the General Laws entitled "Motor Vehicles Owned by a
2	Governmental Body" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
3	42-11.3-7. Electric powered state vehicles.
4	All vehicles owned and operated by a governmental body, as defined in § 42-11.3-1, shall
5	be electric powered within ten (10) years. For the purpose of this section, "vehicles" shall mean
6	automobiles and buses, but not trucks or vehicles utilized by law enforcement.
7	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

1	This act would require that all vehicles owned and operated by a governmental body be
